Memories of Things That Never Happened

I took this candid photo when I first met Colonel Telford in Icarus Base. At the time, I thought I could manage to sneak it back home with me when the government realized I couldn't help them with the 9th Chevron thing. I was sure they'd wipe my memory with the Men In Black device or just kick me out when they didn't need me anymore. Part of me hoped they'd somehow forget to check my iPhone and I'd have this great photo to look at when I got home. It was amazing to me to think that this man was ready to lead a team straight into the face of the unknown. Like a cocky Jean-Luc Picard in black, just 'making it so' all over the damned universe. And nobody on Earth would ever know about him. Nobody would ever know what he risked, what he gave up and what he was doing it for. Except me. Because I had this photo. ...Now, Millbarge, you can have this photo. I don't need it anymore.
